Tauranga Orchid Society members meet from February to November each year (excluding September), on the third Tuesday of the month at 7pm in the Wesley Church hall, 13th Ave, Tauranga. The meetings include a table display of members’ orchids, access to a library, a guest speaker and supper, plus there is always time to ask orchid care questions from the floor, or informally at supper. The February meeting is traditionally a plant auction which members of the public are always welcome to attend.

If you think you might like to join but aren’t sure, come along to a monthly meeting – visitors are always welcome and there’s no charge to attend.

As well as the evening meetings, there is also a visit to a member’s garden (or place of interest) on the first Wednesday (or Sunday) of each month from February-November (excluding October), from 10am. And in early December members get together for a Christmas barbecue.

A three-day show is held every September at Tauranga Racecourse. Members present a themed display, as well as running a sales table, and creating and selling small floral arrangements. Funds raised from the show are used to benefit club members.

At the 2016 AGM, after careful consideration – and having held subscriptions at the same rate for at least 10 years, it was decided to set the annual membership subscription at $25 (single) and $35 (double). Membership automatically includes an annual Orchid Yearbook from the NZ Orchid Council.
